Nadia man held with illegal firearms in Murshidabad; Two pistols seized

Domkal Police conducted a raid in the Aminabad area under Domkal Police Station limits in Murshidabad district based on a confidential tip-off. During the operation, a man was arrested under suspicious circumstances. Police recovered two country-made pistols and one round of live ammunition from his possession.

The arrested individual has been identified as Prakash Pramanik alias Kalu, a resident of the Thanarpara police station area in Nadia district. Police sources confirmed the recovery and said that the accused failed to provide any documents or valid explanation for carrying the firearms.

The accused was produced before the district court on Saturday, where Domkal Police sought seven days of custody for further investigation. Officials have started a probe to verify the origin of the seized arms and the purpose of the accused’s presence in the area with illegal weapons.
